About Yourself:
I am a 3D animator that has been an aquarist for about a year... I kept many terrariums in the past 2 years. I was into plants first and it led me from houseplants to keeping terrariums to creating aquariums and paludariums. I spend an average of 10 hours a week keeping up this tank. It is a great joy. Thank you for looking at it. It is an honor to have you view it.

I don't act, I react
About Yourself:
I've always wanted a big tank. My wife came home one day and said that she got a deal on a 44 gallon tank and then it ended up in the middle of my living room. I then had to start this new project. It was new to me, but I definitely love the new hobby.
Fish Kept:
6 Tiger Barbs, 5 Zebra Danios, 2 Red Platies, 1 Topsail Platy, 2 Black Sailfin Mollies, 1 Plecostamus & 2 Golden Mystery Snails
Corals/Plants:
All plastic.
Tank Size:
44 gallons
Advice:
Take your time to pick out exactly what you want in your tank. Take the time to try new setups for all decorations and plants. Plan ahead so that you won't have to restart from the beginning. Cleall all decorations and accessories before adding in water. Last but not least, test all equipment before setting up and then plugging in.

About Yourself:
got into the hobby from my 2 year old son. we went to get him a betta and bowl, walked out with a 30 gallon and some tropicals. upgraded him to a 55, and bought myself a 75! It is so addicting.
Fish Kept:
cichlids, all malawi. mix of peacocks, haps, labs, mbuna. all range from 1" to about 4". There are 35 total. i think i have about outgrown the tank. a 130 gallon is next.
Corals/Plants:
have 10 live plants, and slowly adding more to replace the plastic ones to get the natural feel both for myself and the fish. they are a mix of plants from the plant store, which one day i will gather the ones that they don't eat.
Tank Size:
75 gallons
Advice:
if your going to get into the hobby, as some call it, be prepared with extra funds over your budget. there is tons that you won't realize you need until, you need it. give it your all, to get the most out of your fish, they should be healthy. they'll bemore active, colorful, and interact with you much differently when healthy. Last, do not take advice from people who work at the national chain petstores!!! Seek online forums and sites for more acurate information to your questions. My intro to fish was a 1o gallon and three oscars, which was advised by the 17 yr old worker at the pet store. big big mistake.

Go to nature. Take the facts in your hands. Look and see for yourself.
About Yourself:
