About Yourself:
-Network Engineer
-Married with children (2 girls)
-Love Gadgets/electronics
Fish Kept:
Electric Yellow Cichlids
1 Adult Male
1 Adult Female
10 Fry from the adults
3 Blue Snails
1 big happy family
Corals/Plants:
-Artificial Plants
-20LBS of Rock
-Tipped-over Lighthouse.
Believe it or not, the Lighthouse which is hollow inside, actually serves a purpose being tipped over. The female cichlid used it to house the fry after spawning. It kept the little critters safe from the larger cichlids which have since then been removed from my tank.
Tank Size:
60 gallons
Advice:
My advise to new hobbyists would be to start small, see how well you can maintain your tank. Try to maintain a healthy tank for 6 months, then you can try upgrading to something larger with more fish. I've seen many hobbyists throw their money in the trash by starting big, and then realizing that their schedule doesn't allow them to maintain a healthy ecosystem in there new tank.
Also, don't go cheap on the filtration system. Make sure they are recycling your water, or else you will see yellow and a lot of algae in your tank.
