About Yourself: Well, I got into this hobby thru my father approx 20 years back. He had a 6x1.5x1.5 feet tank in which he used to have an assortment of fishes. Over the years I have been inclined to move over to Cichlids and Arowana. Amongst Cichlids Oscar are very popular aquarium fish. These intelligent Cichlids are preferred by many aquarists because of their great individuality and character.
Fish Kept: Oscars and Arowana
Corals/Plants: None..... Only Stones and Gravel for the Oscar Tank and Silk Plants / Drift Wood / Gravel for the Arowana Tank
Tank Size: 260 gallons
Advice: Keep as close to nature as possible

About Yourself: Had fish years ago as a kid, now an adult I can better justify the expence. In six months I've gone from 1 5gal tank to this including three breeding tanks. O' what a twisted web we weave.......
Fish Kept: ‘Red Empress’ Protomelas taeniolatus ‘Pearl of Likoma’ Melanochromis joanjohnsonae ‘Blue Acara’ Aequidens pulcher (I know they have to go. But I started with these guys and well ...... ) ‘Electric Yellow’ Labidochromis caeruleus ‘Common Bristlenose’ Ancistrus sp ‘Leopard Pleco’ Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps Pseudotropheus Saulosi
Corals/Plants: anubias alferi anubias sp. plus the large etch ... (this is going too).
Tank Size: 160 gallons
Advice: Don't rush to add fish to your tank, make sure it is cycled properly. Buy as much filtration as you can afford. Buy only fish that a compatable with your tank and it's set up. Also only buy good, clean, colorful stock. A little bit of extra money here saves much disapointment later.

About Yourself: Work in IT. Kept fish tanks for about 15 years. Also have a marine tank. I hope to set up a ciclid tank in the near future.
Fish Kept: Cumminuty fish. Tetras, Harlequins, Tigerbarb, Hoplo Cat. Only recently set the tank up so I hope to add more soon.
Corals/Plants: All Plastic. I'm getting a bit lazy these days.
Tank Size: 40 gallons
Advice: Keep your fridge stocked with beer, chocolate and cake. OK, so it's got nothing to do with fish, but its still good advice!!! You need to have something to do while your watching the tank!!!

About Yourself: Single with 3 boys. I thought (actually, my wife thought) a fish tank would be a great thing to have for our boys so we put one together Christmas Eve and told the boys we would all pick out a fish come New Year's. I am totally into this! I already want a 55 gallon saltwater but I don't see that happening for many years. Plus, I have to see if the five starter fish do OK.
Fish Kept: 1 Large Danio (Big Bucky) 1 Purple Passion Danio (Lightning) 1 Non-Aggressive Orange Cichlid 3 Black Tetras 1 Red Tailed Shark (Inky)
Corals/Plants: Driftwood (2 smaller pieces) rocks and plastic plants. I'll go live once the tank is acclimated. (I tried one live plant and it didn't survive so scratch that)
Tank Size: 20 gallons
Advice: Go to a really really good Aquarium shop. I wasn't happy with the giant pet places. Try to find a "aquatic only" store or two. I love Aquarium Adventure here in the Cleveland area. The staff there has been super helpful with all of my questions as well as having just about everything for aquariums under the sun. I recommend getting all of your starter fish from the same place.
