Fish Kept: Currently there are Two glo-fish style neon fish, three emperor tetras, two penguin tetras, two black medium sized angelfish, two rainbow tetras, a black molly, three algae-eating shrimp and a dwarf frog.
Corals/Plants: I have three amazon swords and a brand new offset; about five scarlet temple plants, four red ludwigia, three corkscrew vallisneria, two mondo grass plants, some dwarf grass and a bit of java moss.
Tank Size: 20 gallons
Advice: My experience with planted tanks is the following: - Take your time with the layout (i.e.which plants to use, and which lighting, hardness, fish will be compatible) - Be patient! - Do your research. There's more to aquarium keeping than throwing a bunch of cool looking fish in a tank. - A healthy looking aquarium will be much more rewarding

Rated #162: 55 Gallons Planted Tank - 55 gallon tank
Cheers, Thanks for looking. Im new to aquascaping. I bought the 200L 55gallon. I have been buying plants and fish occasionally during the last 5 weeks while the tank was cycling, I bought the setup on craigs list for $90 after wanting to have a talk for a long time.

In my tank I have alot of fish. I just added my last fish, 6 assorted gold koi angelfish(just got them), 5 neon tetra (i know they may be eaten), 4 platy, 1 baby platy(good for a new tank), 2 small bala shark (get big), 1 herlaquin raspora, But i still want a ground crew. Like cherry or abino shrimp.

Low light, 48inch 40watt daylight GE bulb. 12hr/day.
Hang on back filter 60.
Bubble stone.
Heater set 77-79F.
pH 7
Medium hardness.
slight low nitrates, 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia.

Setup going well so far, no major problems. High ammonia in begining.

Plants. Well java moss, small water sprite, Pennywort, Brazilian (Hydrocotyle Leucocephala), Spiralis (Cryptocoryne spiralis), Myrio, Red (Myriophyllum heterophyllum), Subulata, Dwarf (Sagittaria subulata), Anacharis (Egeria najas). They are all growing slowly, im gonna buy more java moss tomorrow, i like it. All the plants have had some leaf loss and browning and some melting (i juess)

I do water changes 20% exery wednesday. I put in 1/2 dose flora pride by tetra with water changes. I think this helps. There is some algea starting to form slowly on plastic decorations, the bala seem to like this alot,

What advice can you give me, I want to add the dept of field, do you like the cave, the bubbles roll out the front of cave and most out the back.

I also have 10 moonlight leds that I leave on 24/7.
Im a male nurse and Air Force veteran F-16 crew chief. Thanks for the GI bill. I hope the pics please you. any comments are apprecieted. Keep them positive.

Fish Kept: 1 male and 1 female kribensis (p. pulcher) 6 neon tetras,1 albino cory,1 peppered cory,1 bronze cory,2 flame tetras and 2 baby tinfoil barbs
Corals/Plants: Moneywart, Hornwort, Red Ludwigia, banana plant, aponogeton bulbs,a brazilian sword and a bunch of italian vallisneria.
Tank Size: 20 gallons
Advice: Well i would say the biggest problem i see with people coming into my work would be that they are more worried about their wants than the fish they intend on keepings needs. Always research the fish you want and give them what they need before trying to please your own eye. its easy to have both if you just put a little thought into it, and it will pay off ten fold.
