About Yourself: Let's see.. I'm 25 and I currently reside with my love of 6 years here in Reno, Nevada. My favorite fish is a Koi but all pet stores tell me that a 10 gallon wouldn't be good for it. I also have fallen in love with a Pictus Catfish recently, but once again they tell me not unless I want it by itself. When i get a place of my own I plan on getting several large tanks (to include saltwater tanks). I once had a beautiful koi that was all black with a bright golden yellow tummy. He was so cool but he passed on.
Fish Kept: I have (and I am totally not sure of everything exactly): 1 Emerald Green cory cat, 1 Albino cory cat, 1 Harlequin rasbora, 2 Starfire glofish, 2 Female guppies, & 2 Male guppies, & 1 Juvenile Angelfish - he's my ultimate Marble Angelfish. What do you think?
Corals/Plants: All Plastic Plants: 2 large, 1 medium, 4 small, 1 small feller stone rainbow rock, & 1 medium plant base (with three of the plants custom attached to it), & 1 small custom broken pot.
Tank Size: 10 gallons
Advice: Always let your tank cycle first and always do your research on what you want to place in it.

About Yourself: My father kept fish when we were younger and its just been in the family since. My uncles are salt water and Right now im just freshwater. there was a period where we stopped fish keeping and I got back into it for my 18th birthday when i impulsively bought two fantail goldfish. Ive been fishkeeping again since.
Fish Kept: i had goldfish, they died, neon tetras, but they died, a betta- he's happy, and now fancy guppies.
Corals/Plants: Seagarden Silk Plants in both the betta tank and the 10gal
Tank Size: 10 gallons
Advice: research research research!!! i cannot stress that enough. i went $300 in the hole in numerous tanks, supplies and dead fish. and thats because i didnt research enough. so research to save money, time and lot of tears.

Rated #535: 90 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank

Rated #535: 90 Gallons Freshwater Fish Tank - 90 gallon freshwater aquarium houses 3 happy goldies. Running a Fluval FX5 that pumps about 600 gallons per hour, which is about 300 gph less than what I should have. 2 baskets hold Biomax, and the third holds 2 filter pads from an older, established filter, and 3 water polishing pads. 2 bubble walls keep the oxygen level up, and a regular light gives them the ability to not bump into the sides.

About Yourself: I got into keeping goldfish when I was 15 (now 19) as a school project. When the project was over I wanted to save the cute little feeders from the mouth of a hungry Oscar, so I convinced my mom to let me bring them home. I lost 3 because I had no idea what I was doing, and soon found a great message board to help. I made the mistake of not taking people's advice at first, and probably lost at least 10 of my first fiish to pure stubborness. Last year I had to go away to school, and when I returned I only had 2 of the 7 goldfish I had when I left. I have since purchased a cute little crowned pearscale. The best advice to anyone who wants any type of pet is know what you want and how to take care of it before you invest yourself. You will save a LOT of money.
Fish Kept: 3 goldish 1 Male Common 1 Male Fantail 1 Pearlscale (gender tbd)
Corals/Plants: All fake. My guys eat the real stuff.
Tank Size: 90 gallons
Advice: Research! Even if you think someones claims (such as the required 10 gallons per goldfish) seem illogical and crazy, if a bunch of aquarium nuts agree, it's probably right. But always search for a second opinion!

About Yourself: I've done Woodworking (Scrollwork Art) for about 4 years and also do some gardening. My husband mentioned an aquarium for a Christmas gift idea and then backed off saying it would be too much work. But I started researching and got the bug. Found a used tank for a really good deal and talked him into it! And, yes, the upkeep is a MUST, but not a "chore". Now I have 3 hobbies (4, if you count my husband) and a full time job. Life is GOOD!
Fish Kept: 1 - 4" Chocolate Pleco (Wonka) 1 - 3" Red Tailed Shark, yet to be named 2 mixed Angels 6 Red Eye Tetras 10 Black Neon Tetras 6 Rasboras (the LFS had them listed as Redline or Red Tail Rasboras, but I've not seen them called that anywhere else. They have red tails and black and yellow stripes on their bodies.) The Rasboras and Tetras have a blast swimming under the current of the Eheim input bar. It puts out quite a stream and they swim back and forth under it like a game of chase or follow-the-leader! Have 1 more fish to get - a Roseline Shark. It's a $40 fish (one we lost early on) - so will wait a couple more weeks, just to be sure all is well.
Corals/Plants: Silk & Plastic plants. Wasn't ready to tackle the real ones just yet.
Tank Size: 75 gallons
Advice: DO YOUR RESEARCH. And when you think you've done enough, do some more. I learnd the hard way, don't always count on what your LFS tells you. Even a used tank has to be cycled - I got some initial bad info and paid dearly for it - in $ and the poor fish! In life, it's "Live and Learn". With Aquariums, it's Kill fish & learn! Aquariums are supposed to bring down your blood pressure - I stayed stressed for 6+ weeks due to misinformation. So learn from others mistakes, do your research, and then once you get it going - ENJOY IT! Now 10 weeks into it and lovin' it!

About Yourself: I have had fish tanks since I was a little kid so for about 16 years on and off. I designed my current tank for my one year old son, so it has vibrant colors and lots of active fish. I am currently ia college student majoring in Engineering at TTU but I am also in the Airfoce. I want to get another tank in the future probably around 75 gallons. I have started to become a tetra collector of sorts by accident. what can i say they are low maintenance, but i am a shark lover at heart!
Fish Kept: 2 - Pristella Tetra 2 - Serpae Tetra 3 - X-Ray Tetra 1 - Painted Tetra 2 - Neon Tetra 3 - Zebra fish 3 - Baby Platys 1 - Golden Pleco 1 - Dalmatian Molly
Corals/Plants: All are fake but... 1 amazon sword a few medium height kelps and lots of little ground cover they make it seem more lively.
Tank Size: 30 gallons
Advice: Patience is prolonged suffering, but it is worth the wait. Don't rush start up on a new tank. Start with cheap fish and check your water (PH, nitrogen, and ammonia) often!
