Fish Kept: I have 1 shovelnose catfish, 1 tiger shovelnose catfish, and 2 tiger oscars. And because they only eat fish I halft to buy them feder fish once a week for there food. I need to buy 15-20.
Corals/Plants: I have 4 fake plants, 1 piece of drift wood, and 1 colsium whiich the tiger shovel nose likes to hide in.
Tank Size: 50 gallons
Advice: Start out with cheap fish because the tank has to go through a cycle which last up to five weeks. Make sure to test the water by getting test kits. The cycle makes the ammonia and nitrite high and the fish might die so don't by expensive fish right away and only by about 1 or 2 because the cycle stats by the fishes waste.

About Yourself: My name is Hayley and I apsolutely love animals and plan to start a courier as a vet or zookeeper! At home I have 2 cats, 2 rabbits and all of hte fish stated except for the widows and guppies (and the ones I havent got yet). I got into fish keeping when all of my goldfish died and my parents said that instead of buying new goldfish they would buy a big aquarium and it would go in our lounge! When we got the tank I began researching all of the possible fish that would go with freshwater angels and what colour of angels I would want to get (I love the angels) So after my family and I got back from a holiday and my parents got back from yet another holiday we started buying fish and now nearly 3 months later I have 28 fish and will be getting more soon!!! I jined a nz fish club FNZAS and they have helped me heaps and now my fish are becoming an adiction and will continue to keep them as long as I can!!

About Yourself: I really like to see beautiful fishes in a tank.. Its so lovely.. Planning for a bigger tank approx 50 -75 gallons or more.. That's gonna be a real challenge.
Fish Kept: 2 Mollies 4 Platties. 8 Neon Tetras 2 Bala Sharks (silver) 2 Blue Dwarf Gouramis I guess these would be enough for this small tank. Comments plz. PS: only one dwarf gourami is living now.. all other fish died or "disappeared"?? :(
Corals/Plants: I'm buying Artificial for the small tank. I prefer to stay with artificial, until i get a bigger tank. PS: The new tank will be ready beginning January 2007. This one will be a planted tankl, i'm planning on the design beforehand.. I'm planning for a peaceful lake or river setup.. help needed, comments and ideas most appreciated. The tank will be L: 36in W: 18in H: 21in giving me approximately 59GL I'm planning for a DIY CO2, but not too sure on the diffuser part and how to control co2 emmission in the tank. HELP Plz
Tank Size: 16 gallons
Advice: I'm still learning. and each day u learn something from it. Best is to read, ask questions, read and ask questions. Don't trust those shop owners too much, best is to look for Mom & Dad kept shops. they'll supply with good advice and are always willing to give a helping help and or ideas. Read and read and read, and ask and ask.. never stop reading and asking, most people are ready to help or guide you on specific items. I always listen to people and gather on what each one said and i try to compile all into one possible solution, it sure works..
