About Yourself:
Long time aquarist. First fresh water tank set up in 1976. First salt water tank set up in 1977. My tank was featured in the September 1993 issue of "Marine Fish Monthly". I have successfully kept both reef tanks and fish only tanks. Current tank has been set up since January 2007. The Blue Tangs, the Yellow Tang and the Sailfin Tang have all been in the tank since then (currently 13+ years).
Fish Kept:
Blue Face Angelfish, Flame Angelfish, (4) Blue Tangs, (2) Heniochus Butterflyfish, Yellow Tang, Sailfin Tang, Yellow-Stripe Maroon Clownfish and Blackt Triggerfish. So far, no incidents with the Triggerfish. Keeping my fingers crossed! Added Auriga Butterflyfish. All still going great as of May 2010., (3) Pacific Blue Tangs, Emperor Angelfish, African Flameback Angelfish, Yellow Coris Wrasse, Diamond Watchman Goby, Ocellaris Clownfish, Ocellaris Clownfish, Ocellaris Clownfish, Ocellaris Clownfish, Blue Tang, Blue Tang, Blue Tang
Corals/Plants:
Many soft corals (leathers, mushrooms, Xenias, Zooanthids), Camelback Shrimp, Tuxedo Urchin, Haitian Condylactus Anemone, and many snails. The Emperor Angelfish has been in the tank for a year and a half. So far, he hasn't bothered any of the inverts. Also, he is starting to change into full adult coloration.
Tank Size:
150 gallons
Advice:
Feed sparingly as fish normally forage for food continuously. Overfeeding causes the fish to stop foraging and it just makes it look un-natural. Also (and more importantly), all nutrients added must (eventually) be taken out. Feeding carefully makes maintenance much easier and less disruptive to your fish.
