1 Catfish (dont know much about "duke" has lovely leopard like spots & a very upright dorsal)

I dont know the name of the plant, it has spread like crazy and is sending shoots from the branches plus some duck weed

Keep it simple, plan ahead and get as much info as possible, but heh I am a beginer myself

Currently building a 100 gallon plywood tank and stand using self made wet / dry filtration unit.
Fish Kept:
6 Red Wag Platys - 7 Zebra Danios - 1 Blue Gourami - 1 small Pleco
Corals/Plants:
4 live sword plants - a few plastic plants - wood and rock from back yard, boiled several times and soaked over time until leaching stopped. So far no problems with it.
Tank Size:
29 gallons
Advice:
An aquarium is not just a pretty decoration for your living room. It is a living, breathing environment and needs proper maintenance to continue thriving.
Take the time to do the research and learn how to set up and maintain. Make sure it is done properly, etc. You will be happier in the long run and so will your fish, etc.

About Yourself:
I started with a really small 10 gal tank...
My platys started having tonnes of babies, so I decided to upgrade my aquarium and get into live plants.
Fish Kept:
gouramis, platys, cardinal tetras, white skirt tetras, pleco, albino cory, electric blue lobster, feeder shrimp (yeah, they're supposed to be food, but they keep reproducing!)
Corals/Plants:
narrow leaf bacopa, cambomba, amazon sword, java moss, banana plant, red tiger lotus, a few artificial plants
Tank Size:
35 gallons
Advice:
Knowledge and patience is key...I have lost many fish and some plants to my inexperience and lack of patience. (I didn't research the electric blue lobster before I threw him in the mix, and realized afterward what a great hunter he is - I have lost MANY platys this way....)

I'm kinda new, biggest thing that helped me is trial in error. Don't ever expect to do this hobby be new and have it perfect. Once you get into plants tanks or saltwater good luck a lot of work to get it where you want it, then it's fairly easy from there.
