Always wanted an aquarium and my girlfriend bought it for me about 7 weeks ago, now I`m slowing getting the hang of it

Well, I am a teacher in a school. I live in Lima - Peru. I love Planted Aquariums. i think, this is a beautiful art. my daugther enjoys everything about fish, plants, etc.
I have 15 years with this hobbie... and i was working with LowTech aquariums by Dr. Diana Walstad.
My planted aquarium has two months... for the next months i am expecting for a wonderful tank. thanks.

It's a long story about how I got into the hobby, the short of it is my mom gave me my first fish tank to help with my depression, I was 21. I am now 27. Huge Cradle of Filth fan, and an Oceanography student.

I've been in the hobby for almost 15 years now. I got into the business about 7 years ago cleaning fish tanks for a local fish store while going to school to get my marine biology degree. After I got out of school, I became the Marine Curator of the World Aquarium in St. Louis, Where I only stayed for 1 year before opening up my own aquarium maintenance business called Pristine Aquatics.

1 serpent starfish for leftover food cleanup
1 brittle starfish for detritus cleanup
10 XLG mexican turbo snails for algae removal

trial & error will teach you more than anything, But look into things first like which pet shop is the best in your area, Which type of fish can go with which , What fish you want to keep and then set your tank up accordingly also make sure you read up on deseases like white spot & fin rot.
