About Yourself: 18,have had tanks all my life, fish and frogs.love the sounds and how they look. always a peaceful tank, family has angel fish that are very mean and can kill other fish if wanted to so i stayed away from that.
Fish Kept: 3 common guppies 2 male and 1 female, 2 zebra danio's and 3 red tertas. and 1 plastic fish that was given to me to add some bulk and varity to the tank.
Corals/Plants: 2 Live Bamboo
Tank Size: 5 gallons
Advice: make sure that you always check the health of the water and change half as a cycle every 2 weeks if best and without a filter 1-2 twice daily. a flitter can only do so much and dont over feed your fishes. for a 5 gallon tank dont go over 8 fish unless you talk to your fish dealer some fish like male cooom guppies are so small they dont count as a whole fish. also invest in information 1st. not best to just go and get for a lazy summer afternoon,if thats what you want get sea monkeys instead.

About Yourself: I got my fish 3 years ago. At the time I was new to fish and was told that i could have as many fish as i wanted as long as the aquarium was kept clean and had lots of open space for air. Later on I found out from a more experience aquarist that 11 fish was way too many for a 1 gallon fish tank. So I upgraded to a 10 gallon tank with lots of moving space for my fish. I now have 6 gold fish in my tank.
Fish Kept: 6 Carassius Auratus
Corals/Plants: 3 plastic plants
Tank Size: 10 gallons
Advice: Ask the expert not the newbie.

About Yourself: Started with a small 20 litre tank with two gold fishes and one black moor. If not for the fish forums in the internet many of my fishes would have died. Learnt a lot about fish keeping and plants through browsing.

Corals/Plants: Many plants. Sorry I dont know the names.

About Yourself: grew up with fish, getting in the hobby now just recently.the fish brighten up my rooms and i always want to try something new or find room and a reason for more...
Fish Kept: african cichlids are the "smartest fish"-[quote from animal planet's-mutant planet] and right away you will know why... beautiful, smart, and thousands of varieties make them a favorite to keep and breed. do yourself a favor and check them out sooner or later... you will be glad you did.
Corals/Plants: lower light varieties anubias java fern moss ball amazon sword baby tears
Tank Size: 55 gallons
Advice: learn as much as you can before you commit...care for all the fish's needs and their environment keep only compatable species together- sometimes it is trial and error...doesnt hurt to start small and work as you go, you will alwzays want to try new things and upgrade anyway...filtration and water changes are critical. feed a variety of foods not just flake or pellets. quarentine new fish. spend time watching so you know whats going on, if something changed ,or for the enjoyment... work up to that saltwater tank you are dreaming about...its alot more than just adding marine salt!
