About Yourself:
I have always loved animals, and fish are just so fascinating to me! My tanks just keep getting larger and larger and my fish population grows with the tank size :] I am currently not working due to being an expectant mother..
Fish Kept:
Plecos, Catfish, Bumble Bees, Guppies, Mollies, Bettas, Tetras, Snails, African Dwarf Frogs.... and of course our 8 baby guppies and mollies! (when our 45 gallon is set up they're getting their own 20 gallon tank)
In 2005 I started out with one betta fish in a 2.5 gallon tank. Then I added my first pleco who was about two inches long. Once my pleco started to grow I got a 10 gallon tank for him (Spot) and the betta fish (Mr. Fishy). Now, in the fall of 2008, Spot is in one of my two 20 gallon tanks (7.5 inches long & 2 inches wide) with an arrangement of other fish, but Mr. Fishy is no longer as of this past summer. My fiance loves plecos and any other type of large algea eater. We currently have 4, ranging from 3 inches long to about 9 inches long. Personally I love watching our froggies swim around the tank :]
Corals/Plants:
I typically buy whatever potted plants I can find that best fit my tanks from PETCO. Although these seem like fake names I got them from the PETCO website to make sure they are correct... I currently have some Amazon Swords, Anubias lanceolata, Hygrophila difformis, and another type I cant figure out the name of.
Tank Size:
20 gallons
Advice:
Always research a fish before you buy it, to see what temperature water you need, what to feed them, what size group you should keep them in (most fish do well in groups of 3 or more, typically odd numbers) and try not to over crowd your tank, or you will have the fish fighting each other for space (sometimes to the death).
