Corals/Plants: In each tank I have about 20 or so Freshwater clams, and between 7-12 trapdoor snails.
Tank Size: 90 gallons
Advice: If you are in NY like me, dont use tap water. And, always use clams and snails to help keep your water crystal clear. They filter alot of teh bad stuff in the water. ALso keep a hearty number of Cory Cats for the bottom, as well as Cat FIsh, ALge Eaters, and Plecos.

About Yourself: I got in to this hobby from my old friend to see who had 3 tanks and I loved what he had. I am a Boilermaker from Local 169. I am also looking forward to getting a 150 gallon with Discus as soon as I buy my house.
Fish Kept: 9- Red-Bellied Pirhana 1 Rhino Pleco 1 Dragon Goby (violet goby)
Corals/Plants: Plastic plants, (easier to clean)
Tank Size: 55 gallons
Advice: I find that when setting up my tank to let it cycle. Its easier when you drop a dozen gold fish in the tank for a week then remove them. The tank will be cycled then you can start adding you desired fish.

Advice: invest in your fish. make sure you spend some time everyday to watch your fish thoroughly for signs of illness and stress. water temp must be kept at a static temp. check for amonia and nitrates all the time. get real plants and not those stupid plastic ones! provide hiding spaces for your fish at all times! a little jug might be good! give them a healthy diet and dont give them the same food all the time! buy some brine shrimp of freeze dried blood worms and give them as treats. if you have bottom feeders get sinking foods.

About Yourself: I am very new to this hobby (three months in!) and have become addicted! I lost three guppies and a stermia corydora when my tank was cycling, but it cycled in about two and a half weeks and my nitrite levels finally went down and haven't lost another fish. I bought my tank, with hood and light, stand, two filters, and several filter accessories for $50 on Craigslist, have put in another $300 of decorations/accessories, and can't wait to get another tank set up! (Would like a semi-aggressive tank of clown loaches and a black ghost knife!)
Fish Kept: 3 albino corydoras, 2 stermia corydoras, 3 sunset wag platies (and a 2 week old baby!), 3 glo fish (zebra danios), 1 rubber-lipped pleco (2 inches) 1 betta splenden (siamese fighting fish)
Corals/Plants: Artificial only
Tank Size: 30 gallons
Advice: --Start off by slowly introducing only 3 fish at a time... you will probably lose some fish as the tank is cycling, but within a couple of weeks it will balance itself out. --Regular water changes are a must! --Choose hardy fish; guppies are not the strongest swimmers, and contrary to popular lore, are not the hardiest species.
