About Yourself:
Loved my freshwater tank as a child, but wanted to get into something more serious and different now as an adult, many years later. I discovered that very few brackish tanks make up the percentage of household aquariums, and wanted to give myself a challenge. I found that with the right research, these unique aquaria are very inexpensive and very interesting to say the least.
Fish Kept:
- 3 juvinile mono argentus
- 1 adolescent mono sebae
Corals/Plants:
No live plants. This environment was aquascaped to mimick delta to open ocean environments. Lots of open space for the monos to swim and mature. No preditors.
Argonite sand substrate, lava and coral rock, and seashells. Fake coral.
Tank Size:
38 gallons
Advice:
ALWAYS cycle a tank before putting fish into it. This is especially true of many brackish species who need the bacteria to be healthy. Know your fish as well when you buy. Research, research, and then research. Forums are great places to look up info on your species of choice.
Also, be wary when purchasing brackish species. Many of them are kept in fresh water due to the inconsistancy of retailer info. Most "brackish" species, or those labelled as such, do much better in a proper brackish environment. A great example are figure 8 puffers, who are much healthier and happier (and less stressed) in brackish waters, as that is their natural habitat.
Description:
38 Gallon brackish water tank. Minimalist design. Sand substrate, dead rock, and fake coral. No plants. Species include mono argtenus and mono sebae. Date on image is incorrect.

About Yourself:
I have been a fish keeper for more than 4 years now. I am pretty much addicted at this point. I plan to work at Petsmart when I get my license, and work in the Aquarium department.
Fish Kept:
Right now I have a Goldfish named Spicoli, he is 4 years old and 4", and also needs to be re-homed. Also I have 7 baby bluegill. They are doing great in my tank, and even eating Omega One Flakes. I do about 10% weekly or even more to keep the tank healthy since it is really overstocked right now. But when all these are gone I'm just gonna go with one Sailfin Molly or something.
Corals/Plants:
No Plants Right Now.
Tank Size:
10 gallons
Advice:
Research Research Research! I have learned so much in the past 6 months about aquariums it's not even funny. If you want a healthy and clean tank do your research!

About Yourself:
22 years old, started when I was 10 years old. I had a couple of tanks that failed because I had no idea what I was doing. Since started up again like a year and half ago, its been going great. Still learning, I don't think I will ever know it all.
Fish Kept:
1) clown angelfish, 1) upside down catfish, 2) peaceful african cichlids, 4) platties, 1) bronze cory, 1) spotted cory, 1) albino cory, 1) scum sucker "algae eater" , 1) blue gourami
Corals/Plants:
All plastic
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
Bigger the tank, the easier it is to maintain. (if you don't over stock) The filter reads 40 gallon. It's really only good for 20 gallons.
