why is this field required!?!
About Yourself:
well, i work at a pet store! go figure, but i got into the hobby long before i started working there.
Fish Kept:
Fish------
1 Neon Tetra. 3 Von Rio Orange Tetras. 3 German Blue Rams (1 male 2 female). 1 Gold Ram (female). 2 baby Leaf fish. 1 painted skirt tetra (i know-- bad me, but he was being picked on at the pet store, so i saved him from being beaten to death). 1 palateus cory. 1 skunk cory. 2 african ropefish. 2 striped raphael catfish. 1 lace catfish. 1 tatia bumblebee catfish.
1 Farlowella and a constant supply of 2 dozen feeder shrimp for the ropefish
Corals/Plants:
De'cor-----
mostly artifical, with 2 live amazone sword plants, 1 piece of live drift wood
Tank Size:
29 gallons
Advice:
This tank may sound overcrowded, but the crush coral and flourite help to maintain a Ph range of 6.8 - 7.2, the magnum 350 is more than sufficient to filter the small tank twice over each hour.
My advice is to always have a setup where your filtration is twice your tank size (if possible), it just helps to keep the toxins and waste under control.
Of course KNOW your fish and their habitat and needs.

About Yourself:
I got into fish tanks because i won some fair fish about a year ago. bought a 10 gallon tank to put them in (they're still alive!!). things just took off from there. i fell in love with the hobby. just got my 55 Gallon about 2 weeks ago.
Fish Kept:
55 Gallon- male and female blue paradise gourami
29 Gallon- 3 south american cichlids and a small jack
dempsy that is growing too fast
26 Gallon- 4 south american cichlids
10 Gallon- 4 zebra danios and 2 mollies
10 Gallon- 2 goldfish and 2 platies
10 Gallon- temporary housing for a small parrot fish
Corals/Plants:
all artificial...real rocks from a creek in the 55...lol
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
take your time with tanks. do not overstock your tanks!! check fish tank mates before you purchase fish so that you can have the variety that you may want eventually. test the water in a new tank with inexpensive fish to make sure that they can survive before you go spending lots of money on expensive fish. do not over-feed your fish. once in the morning and once at night in small amounts is good. over-feeding clouds the water. if your tank is by a window expect green water and excessive algae growth. lots of water changes needed if this happens to clear it up(i learned the hard way)
