FISH: 2 Oscars, 3 Texas Cichlids, 1 Electric Blue Jack Dempsy, 2 Sevrums,3 plecos, 2 eclipse catfish, 2 koi, 1 green sunfish, & about 1000 baby Texas about every couple months or so
filter:Jacuzzi 16" Sand Filter System w/ 1hp pump(1600gph), 2 fluval 404's & 10' undergravel filter w/ 3 1200gph power heads.

I am currently in the Royal Australian Navy so my aquarium has to be self sufficient as my wife doesnt touch it. This could be up to 3 months at a time. Timers and self feeders do all the work. Vey easy to maintain

About Yourself:
To start I'm a fisherman. One day in college I thought, "Hey it would be cool to watch these guys in a tank!" But, if you know anything about walleye, they are not that pretty and prefer colder waters. So I got a tank and got some fishes that were more suited for aquarium life. To this day it has yet to stop entertaining me!

All plastic... it's an aquarium not a garden

Advice:
Start with something easy then once you got the hang of it work your way up to more exotic fish. Don’t start with a 10 gallon unless you have to. Spend the more and invest in a bigger tank that will last longer. So then when you do understand how to run an aquarium you can get that cool exotic fish you saw in the pet shop.
P.S. Cleaning them sucks after while, but in the end you will have a much healthier tank

All starter fish for now...tiger barbs, zebra dinos...I hope they make it, but I doubt they will...the tank is only 1 week old...once the tank gets stabalized, I am going to raise the temperature and get some discus fish in there--red and orange.

its best to start with a small tank i think do lots of reading ,you will end up falling in love with the whole thing and want to get bigger and bigger...oh dont just do it for another gadget in life....its not fair on the fish :my lil motto :P :

I had fish tanks all my life I got into the hobby from my dad. My first tank was a 29 gallon then I got a 55 gallon then I got my 200 gallon arowana peacock bass tank. It's a great hobby !
