About Yourself:
Well I moved from South Carolina and I couldn't have piranha down south so. When I moved here I knew that I could so I just jump right on it and went all out. Went to Knoxville, Tenn and paid 150.00 for 10 piranha's. And as of 6/15/2007 they just turn a year old. And my occupation I work as a night manager at walmart its just great. So to all they are not bad fish. The tank is really clean all the time even doe i feed them goldfish, chicken wings, mice and fish pellets.
Fish Kept:
1 big fat Pacu and 10 Piranhas a black knife fish that hides all the time.
Corals/Plants:
4 plastic hanging plants and 2 long vine plants
Tank Size:
120 gallons
Advice:
Fish are like dogs and cats u just cant take them out for walks but u can train them and love them. So get fish that u can really keep and not just get them and when they get to big let them go in the river, pond, or lake etc.

One 48in light bulb and housing. A 900 gph power head keeping the water moving. Two 15lb bags of rocks on the bottom of the tank, 4 plastic hanging plants. Four plastic tree trunks for hiding.

About Yourself:
50 yr. old male. Retired/disabled truck driver. Been into the hobby off and on for about 25 yrs. Some really nice set-ups here. I got a lot of good ideas for my tank.
Fish Kept:
Convicts, Australian Rainbows, 2 Jack Dempseys, Black Skirt Tetras, Texas Cichlids, Striped Raphael Catfish and 1 unknown Cichlid. I know I have too many fish, but my old tank started leaking and I only had the cash for this tank! Planning on getting at least a 75gal. tank in the near future.
Corals/Plants:
Fake plants. Sandstone and slate from landscape supply.
Tank Size:
45 gallons
Advice:
Get as large a tank as you can afford because you'll just end up getting a bigger one later. I get alot of my equipment (filters, air pumps etc.) from garage sales. I paid less than $30.00 for my filters! Also, things like decorative rock and substrate can be purchased at landscape supply for very cheap. I also saved quite a bit of cash by making my stand and hood myself.
Description:
45gal tall, sandstone rock structure, crushed granite substrate($10 for 80 pounds at landscape supply), Undergravel jets for good water movement. Way too many fish in tank, overrun w/baby Convicts! I have a massive amount of filtration so my PH, Ammonia levels etc. are always good. If anybody can tell me what the big fish at the left side of the tank is, i'd really like any opinions!

About Yourself:
I started with a really small 10 gal tank...
My platys started having tonnes of babies, so I decided to upgrade my aquarium and get into live plants.
Fish Kept:
gouramis, platys, cardinal tetras, white skirt tetras, pleco, albino cory, electric blue lobster, feeder shrimp (yeah, they're supposed to be food, but they keep reproducing!)
Corals/Plants:
narrow leaf bacopa, cambomba, amazon sword, java moss, banana plant, red tiger lotus, a few artificial plants
Tank Size:
35 gallons
Advice:
Knowledge and patience is key...I have lost many fish and some plants to my inexperience and lack of patience. (I didn't research the electric blue lobster before I threw him in the mix, and realized afterward what a great hunter he is - I have lost MANY platys this way....)

About Yourself:
It hasn't been until recently I have gotten into the fish tank scene but doing this and comparing tanks with my father and brother has never left us without a conversation and has brought us much closer. I have made a lot of mistakes with my tank but overall all the fish coexist without killing each other.
Fish Kept:
1 Betta, 1 Dwarf Puffer Fish, 1 Blue Gourami, 1 Redtail Shark, 2 Mollies, 2 Balloon Mollies, 1 Hatchet Fish, 6 Fancy Guppies, and 1 gold Algae Eater
Corals/Plants:
Haha I've forgotten, Amazon swords, some grass like things, and some red stuff.
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
Don't believe all you read and hear. The best way to learn is with experience, observation, and trial and error.
