Greatness comes in defending what you know is right.
About Yourself:
Always have loved animals. I wanted a beautiful peace of the ocean in my room. I started and failed with a nano 12 gallon cube and found out the difficulties the hard way(yellow box fish died and poisoned all my other fish and killed them). I love my fish and it is a good part of my day to see them get excited when I go to feed them.
Fish Kept:
Stars and Stripes Puffer(Arothron hispidus), Barred Moray eel, Sailfin Tang, Kole Tang, Blue Hippo Tang, Green Chromis, Yellow Wrasse, Maroon Clown, Humu Humu Trigger
Corals/Plants:
Live Rock
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
A great looking aquarium dose not always have to be so expensive you can't afford it. However make sure everything is what you want. I am extremely happy with my aquarium. It took a long time to get everything stabilized. Don't stress if you lose fish, it happens. But once you have everything you need and you get some bad and good experiences under your belt, it will all be good from there!
Description:
55 gallon uniquarium. Lighting efficient for reef, however just used for fish only. Biological Balls and live rock to house bacteria. A lot of good hiding places for fish. Chiller that is ran throughout the summer. Decorations including a conch shell, dead colored coral, rubber coral, and fake red seaweed. I re-sanded, varnished, and worked on the top and bottom wood. New pictures soon!

About Yourself:
Growing up I always had a freshwater tank and when I got into college I really looked into buying a large tank to set up as saltwater. I ended up buying my 110 gallon setup and eventually began working at the pet store to pay for my new and very expensive hobby. I even changed my major from fashion design to marine biology because I fell in love with it from the beginning. My tank is now my pride and joy and even though I'm moving in July to go to school (for marine bio.), I can't bring myself to sell it. So I'm making the move from Southern IL to Southern FL with the love of my life; ) Wish me luck!!!
Fish Kept:
3 false percula clowns, 4 orange firefish, 1 XL sailfin tang, 2 hippo tangs (one XL 8 in.), 1 foxface, 1 midas blenny, 1 domino damsel, 1 yellow damsel, 1 flame angel, 1 yellow tang, 8 blue green chromis, 2 clarkii clown (in sump refugium), 1 mandarin goby
Corals/Plants:
1 tan carpet anemones, 1 green carpet anemone, 1 purple gorgonia, 1 orange sea rod
Tank Size:
110 gallons
Advice:
Be prepared to shovel out the dough ; ) It may be more work than a freshwater tank, but it is so much more rewarding!!! And don't get lazy...do those weekly/biweekly water changes!!! It makes a huge difference!!!
