I was a corporate law clerk but am currently on disability. it gives me the time to write and keep fish and a collection of plants. I have been keeping fresh and brackish water tanks for approx 17 years now.

Advice:
Try a freshwater tropical fish tank before a saltwater tank. If the Betta becomes too aggressive, remove him.
Description:
This is my tiny, three-gallon tank, which houses a Pleco, three Guppies and a male Betta. The plant in view is an Amazon Sword. I also own a 55 gallon tank.

REGULAR WATER CHANGES AND TESTING!!! Vacuum your substrate and change your filters regularly. Ensure proper oxygenation. Research research research before you buy, then research once more and take notes. Buy quality equipment and maintain it properly. Expensive does NOT equal quality, more research! Make sure you can afford to care for your fish properly before you commit. Did I mention clean water?
