Rated #92: 60 Gallons Planted Tank

Rated #92: 60 Gallons Planted Tank - Co2 continues into mid-July. My goal of having the Vallisneria spiralis encircle the tank is getting closer as they are sending shoots around the glass. The Cryptocoryne grew to large, and I cut it way back so light could reach other plants.

About Yourself: I got into this hobby because of tetra that I killed because I didnt know anything about cycling a tank. I answer questions for an African Cichlid forum now and I enjoy helping the new comers. I started out many years ago with a 10 gal, then moved up to a 29 gal, then a 32 gal, had a couple other 29 gals with S. Americans in it but didn't really enjoy them as much as I do the Africans. I kept buying fish and had to move up to a 55. I will be moving up to a 120 or better as soon as I can find the tank I want. I find this the most peaceful and enjoyable hobby I have ever had. I love my fish like they were dogs or cat and treat them as such. I name some and I donate the ones that can't get a long in the tank with others. I don't believe in flushing unless they are dead and I have never lost one cichild to any kind of illness which mine have never had. My daughter calls me a 'tree hugger'. She may be right. I do have two favorites in my tank, my first male electric blue johanni "Blue" and my first male Kenyi (Kenny) who is changing to yellow now. They remind me of the ranks in the 'God Father' Blue being Vito and Kenny being Michael. I would like to try a few African Cichlids from Lake Victoria if I can find them. And some day when I am all growed up I am going to ask Santa for a Reef Tank as soon as I become Edumicated.

Advice: I am a forum rep for an African Cichild site and my advise to all the newbies is to cycle your tank properly and to research the fish you want before you buy them.
