"As a rule, man is a fool. When it's hot, he wants it cool. When it's cool, he wants it hot - always wanting what is NOT...never wanting what he's GOT."
About Yourself:
I work for the Utah State Office of Tourism...come see us soon!
I was always fascinated by aquariums since I was a little kid. (something about maintaining an entire ecosystem in an iddy bitty space!) I finally broke down and spent (around $1,500) on a cool setup...but now I want it to be bigger!

Might be the land of 10,000 lakes but I have the best ones in my living room.. ;)
About Yourself:
complete geek.. nonetheless, I have always enjoyed aquariums, and find them more interesting than watching T.V.. lol :)
Looking forward to sharing the forum, and learning as much as I can about my own tank, and the *many other choices to come.
Greetings to everyone, and Best of luck with all your tanks..
Cheers.
Fish Kept:
Clown Loach, Guarami's, Molly's, Plecos, Snail, Shrimp, Tetra's, & that's it for now.. by far my favorite to watch are the Guarami's and Clown's... they are *really entertaining. :)
The Molley's ect. are more for color/decoration.
and of course, the Pleco, Shrimp, and Snail as well,
but they are all Great to watch. :)
Corals/Plants:
Live Bamboo's.. for now that is all (live) I plan on replacing the several "plastics" asap with all live ones. :) a must imo.
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
TAAAKE YOOOUR TIIIME. . I know it can be hard to pass up a beautiful, or fun looking fish at the fish store.. believe me.. but, it will only make it harder to learn (and there IS a LOT of information that is available, that will ultimatley make/keep your FISH, and you HAPPY. :) set up the tank, exactly with whatever you want it to accommodate. enjoy the process! look around for ideas, info, whats best for the fish you PLAN on keeping.. yes, dont just "add them".. no matter how much they attract You. ;) .. you want a *Healthy, comfortable, and Happy* Aquarium for All your fish to live in.. research EACH fish Before you get them, if you see one @ a shop, write it down, and come back after visiting for info.. you'd be surprised by some of them, and much wiser for it. Learn the Basics/Setup, The Fish(you should already have in mind), and also the "maintenance" required.. get it all together, and even create a seperate "safe tank" for any future problems to hold any troubled fish in while you investigate/possibly save your entire tank.. **especially** be diligent on "introducing" new fish... can't "stress" this enough.. it's easy, but take the time to do it best. Plan ahead, and read up, get books, visit here.
Description:
55Gal tank, 3 clowns, 4 Gourami's, pleco, catfish, and shrimp, 3 molly's, & 3 Platty's.
The orange meets the clown loaches natural habitate (so ive read), and is divised form the use of "Natural Rock" colors .. and 4 medium size pieces of Driftwood (helping the Ph as well), all the fish seem VERY happy, the Loaches even "Dance" on occassion, mostly in the morning when i first go to turn the lights on, i have to sneak up and look in i can usually see them "Falling" together.. quite a site. :)

Where on God's Green Earth, is that fish?
About Yourself:
Been doing this for about 3 months now. My Wife and I are stayin' with my mother and father for about a year to save up money for a home. We would like to have a dog, but my mother has a problem with Animals. So we decided to get some fish... after about a month of research I put it all together.
When I finally have my own home, I plan on getting a 150 Gal Tank. (My 20 Gal will be my Q-Tank) I'm already planning for it. It's can be difficult to maintain a small tank (Small space for big mistakes) Like I've heard people say "GO BIG! OR GO HOME!"
Fish Kept:
4 Neon Tetras, 4 Cherry Barbs, 2 Bala Sharks, 2 Clown Loaches, & 1 pleco.
Corals/Plants:
Regular gravel from a pet shop. 10lbs blue, 5lbs green, & 5lbs white. All fake... 2 (5") Dark green plants and 1 (24") Light green plant that overlaps on the surface to provide shade.
Tank Size:
20 gallons
Advice:
Do your research, Be (EXTREMLY) Patient, and Enjoy!!!
