About Yourself: I became a fan of the hobby when I was 13. My friend got a tank and I had to get one too. I have kept the same 20 gallon tank for 6 years now. I personally do not prefer extremely large tanks. Anything between a 10 and 75 gallon is fine.
Fish Kept: In this tank I have Mixed African Cichlids. I have kept almost all types of common petstore, peaceful temperment fish. I have a ten gallon fish tank with Guppies and Dwarf Gouramies (which are less agressive then regular Gouramies). I always have a Plecostomus for my tanks and a bottom feeding catfish.
Corals/Plants: I have kept an Anubias Coffeefolia plant for almost 2 years now. As for my other plants I have not had too much luck. The plants of course require care just like the fish. Fake plants can look really real if you place the, right and choose the right ones. (the more expensive ones are better!)
Tank Size: 20 gallons
Advice: Be extremely patient, it will definitly be worth it. Do plenty of research and be willing to maintain the tank because that is the second most important thing.

Fish Kept: 4 Danios (1 Zebra and 3 Glo fish), 1 Platy, and 2 guppies
Tank Size: 12 gallons
Advice: Do fishless cycling. It is well worth it. Guppies and Platies and Mollies have a short lifespan. Usually 6 months. I was lucky to have one for over a year. But they keep on dying. My advice to starters is to get Danios. The glow fish paired with the zebras give lot of color and if properly taken care of will live for years. My zebra danio is now 2 years old. The Glo fish are about a year.

Quote: Excellence is a Habit!
About Yourself: I'm a 22 year old college student with fish on the brain.
Fish Kept: 20-25 assorted africans 2 plecos 1 catfish
Corals/Plants: Plastic plants, not ready for the commitment of live plants.
Tank Size: 90 gallons
Advice: Gertting started is not easy! But once you do just keep on truckin. It takes alot of time and money but if you are into it, It's worth It! Study up on your species of fish and keep them as healthly as you can, there is nothing more pathetic then sick fish. My number one problem getting started was keeping my lights on too long and constantly battling algae blooms. Do not keep your lights on more then 8 hours a day. Buy a timer!
