I'm pretty new, but always clean or change your filter cartridge. You can tell when it's really dirty or clogged when the flow from your filter starts to reduce.

About Yourself:
Mine and my girlfriends tank =).
Fish Kept:
1 angel fish, 2 albino cory, and 2 burmese boarder loach.
Corals/Plants:
Plants: Echinodorus Amazonicus
Decor: Gravel and fake coral
Tank Size:
12 gallons
Advice:
Keep up with the tank cleaning wise. I have had this tank for about 4 years now and my biggest problem I had when I was starting out was not maintaining a clean tank. Also, take your time when adding new fish. Do the research! There have been some instances when I was starting out when I just got a fish only to find out it was an aggressive fish that picked on all my other 'community' fish.
