About Yourself:
I got really interested in aquariums when my Dad started his 55 gallon aquarium. I was really intrigued by the fish he kept!
Fish Kept:
Over the years (not all at once) I've kept a few angelfish, glowlight tetras, swordtails, corydoras, tiger barbs, and kuhli loaches just to name a few. I had two aquariums.

Started from classic 2 gold fishes in a bowl suggested by LFS, luckily have read enought by now to know that that was a seriously bad idea :)

Time to update profile. Moved to NY in January '09.
Open to the public, not a petshop, but allowing the residents around here to stop by anytime to see my tanks and buy fish. We have 152 running aquariums now, mainly 55/75, and 30's for grow out, 16 - 350 gallon containment vats for growing out some of the more prolific species, and 2 vats dedicated to breeding our beloved Blue Rainbow tropheus, and Masawa Duboisi tropheus. Total Gallons at this point is undetermined, but ALOT 13,000gallons? somewhere around there.

We are crazy in love with our fish. Being that this is our first tank, we hope we have done everything right to keep them alive and happy!.......That was when we first got our tank and boy have we been through a lot since then!!! One big die-off, one big round of some sickness that we eventually beat, having to get rid of the gouramis that were bullying our tetras and other smaller fish. BUT our two albino plecos had multiple "litters' for a total of about 80 babies until we finally removed their "love shack", a chinese fishing boat that we ordered from ebay. We just couldn't take all the babies, it was really upsetting the tank levels and they'd get in the filter etc. Our pepper cories also had two babies that lived and we still have them along w/ about 6 of the plecos (for now--we gave all the rest of the plecos away and probably will do the same with these eventually, keeping the original two who we have dubbed Mr. and Mrs. McLovin').

Currently--6 rummynose tetras, 6 cardinal tetras, 8 cory cats, 3 upside down African cats, 7 albino bristlenose plecos, 8 harlequins, 7 glass cats
Corals/Plants:
All plastic plants, petrified wood, driftwood, other rock and stones. Various fun stuff like the rum drinking skeleton and Slo Mermaid ceramics.

70 gallons
Advice:
Be prepared for disaster. It happens sometimes at first but don't let that stop you from being diligent. It eventually pays off!

Fancy Goldfish!!! Orandas, Ranchus, & Moors are my favorite!!! I have Large Comet Goldfish. An Albino Clawed Frog. Catfish: Pimelodus Blochii, Striped Raphael, & 3 Corydoras. I also have Gouramis, Guppies, & Bettas. They are not all in one tank!!!! I have 6 different freshwater tanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Advice:
Learn what cycling your tank is before adding fish! Research for compatible tankmates. Do not use test strips to check levels. Drop test are much better. Keep nitrates between 20-30 with weekly water changes. Over "mothering" your fish is no good either, because people tend to treat with too many medications. Believe me, I did it in the past. If your fish are healthy DO NOT change anything, no matter who tells you to change.
