Advice:
i suggest that you should only get a tank if you are fully committed. Also when i started i had a very small 17l which was hard to keep because the water chemistry changed so quickly. i would say to start with a tank around the size of mine because it is easy to keep healthy.

When trying something new in your tank make sure you are very careful in cleaning it, also making sure the fish you have can't swallow it, and also so they can't hurt themselves on it. But most of all have fun with it.

Advice:
Plan carefully before buying the first tank.
Don't start with livebearers, or you'll end up with tens of them, leaving no space for future aquisitions.
It's better to underfeed, than overfeed.
You should have a smaller spare tank to use as an hospital or quarantine aquarium
