About Yourself:
My grandma had an oscar that had a personality that wouldn't quit. My dad had three tanks when I was growing up and I have always wanted one myself, but couldn't see spending money on fish when I had rent to pay. Three years ago, my son surprised me for Mother's Day with a 5 gallon starter tank. I cried! Since then, I replaced the five gallon with a ten gallon tank and have recently added the 29 gallon. Eventually, I want a reef tank.
Fish Kept:
2 Silver Scats
1 Green Spotted Scat

Corals/Plants:
I have all silk plants, they look the best. I also have a piece of driftwood.
Tank Size:
29 gallons
Advice:
Do your research and don't just take the word of a saleperson at your local pet supply store.

Fish Kept:
Bleeding Heart Tetra, Black Phantom Tetra, Tiger Pleco, Cardinal Tetra, Columbian Tetra, Burmese Loach
Corals/Plants:
Jungle Val, Cryptocoryne Lutea
Tank Size:
35 gallons
Advice:
Be patient! We have a rough time starting our tank because we made decisions too quickly about what fish to add. We lost several because they were either suited to larger groups of the same fish or because they preferred larger tanks. We ended up returning the rest and adding more of the tetras we had used as hardy starter fish. Everyone's much happier!
