About Yourself: I started as young child with a small ten gallon tank. Now I'm grown up and on my own. With a steady job I can afford a large tank that is pleasing to the eye.

Corals/Plants: live plants
Tank Size: 46 gallons
Advice: THe bigger the tank the easier it is. Actually spend the money on a good filter. It can make a world of difference.

Fish Kept: Vieja argentea, Archocentrus octofasciatus (Jack Dempsey), and Crenicichla strigata (Striped Pike Cichlid) Also: 2 x Platydoras costatus (Striped Raphael Catfish), 1 x Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps (Spotted Sailfin Pleco)
Tank Size: 55 gallons
Advice: Start with a bigger tank... It's much easier to control the water quality on a 40+ tank than it is on a smaller tank. In a small tank adding one fish too fast can spike the ammonia and nitrite levels enough to kill the others if you aren't careful...

Fish Kept: 18 fish total, 9 cichlids, 2 corys, 1 pleco, 4 algae eaters, 2 rosy barbs. Also 3 prawn that managed to hide and grow big enough to fend off the fish. Cichlids are a mix, but they all have their own spot and get along. The largest, which is hiding in the back left corner, is a Jack Dempsey measuring about 8" long. The rosy barbs were doomed/moved to this tank while cleaning the small tank. They're not much bigger than some of the feeder fish we buy. I probably breaking all the rules, but here are my cichlids (best guesses on some): 2 - Jack Dempseys (Jack & JJ) 1 - Yellow Lab (Stripe) 1 - Super VC10 (Spot) 1 - Hap Ahli (Ice) 1 - Tropheus duboisi (Ringo) 1 - Julidochromis marlieri Burundi (Grid) 1 - Blood Parrot (Bubbles) 1 - Hemichromis stellifer (Jewel) (you guys name your fish, right?)
Corals/Plants: none
Tank Size: 70 gallons
Advice: Bigger tanks are easier.

About Yourself: I've had a fish tank since I was a kid. At 40 years old and successful, I am able to afford all of the more exotic wild-caught fish and goodies. I've been around the world and am multi-lingual. I have seen many beautiful aquariums and built this one the way I've always wanted it.
Fish Kept: Neon Tetra, Black Neon Tetra, Black Skirt Tetra, Red Minor Serpae Tetra, Glowlight Tetra, Gold Pristella Tetra, Bleeding Heart Tetra, Head and Tail Light Tetra, True Rummynose Tetra, X-Ray Pristella Tetra, Red Eye Tetra, German Blue Ram, Marble Veil Angel, Altum Angel, Zebra Danio, Zebra Pleco, True (L-46), Panda Cory Cat, Peppered Cory Cat, False Julii Cory Cat
Corals/Plants: lots and lots and lots of Plastics (not very successful with live plants)
Tank Size: 135 gallons

About Yourself: When I was a kid I always had beta fish tanks. I bought my first 10 gallon freshwater tank when I was 18, then bought a 20 gallon about two years later. Recently I was given a 75 gallon and passed on the 20 gallon to my son. I often find myself transfixed upon the aquariums, they are a very useful destressor!

Corals/Plants: plastic
Tank Size: 75 gallons
Advice: Don't let your husbands buy red-bellied pacus!

Quote: Only when you truly love the fish, will the fish love you back!
About Yourself: I used to live in California in the United States but I had to move to Galway in Ireland because of family business. I was forced to sell my 15 gallon fish tank with my beloved goldfish it was very sad as they were 10 years old. I bought a new 17 gallon tank here in Ireland with new goldfish and a algae eaters eater and im flying it!!!!!!! ITS A GREAT HOBBY!!!!!!!!
Fish Kept: My fish are fairly simple to mind but I like them I have a variety of 6 goldfish, 3 white cloud moutain minnow, 2 plecostomuses, 1octomus (algae crew) and 3 weather loach.
Corals/Plants: I have plants with some fake plants and river rocks at the bottom. I recently added bogwood in the centre for natural effect and the fish are thriveing in it .
Tank Size: 17 gallons
Advice: Take your time to plan out what type of tank you want and the size. The fish should be evenly matched so one fish doesnt get all the food, get a good filtration pump so it minimizes cleaning also get an oxegen pump and lighting, but most of all have fun and enjoy being a fish keeper.
