I'm 24 years old, and I'm a beginner fish hobbist. I thought it would be easy at first but then I found out the hard way that it takes alot to take care of fish. I'm learning quickly though and I enjoy looking at my tank.

my name is stan im from california aquariums are my hobby and im 19 years old and learning about them still. i have a 60 gallon freshwater tank in my room with a redtail catfish and other breeds of catfish by my projects tank is my 95 gallon custom sphere aquarium in my living room. it took a lot of hard work and time to put together and im still working on it. i like to learn anything about aquariums somebody has to teach me or tell me about so please dont hesitate to offer suggestions and you might see them as soon as i have the time to make it happen. i have videos of both my tanks on youtube. my name on there is californiastan.

About Yourself:
This is my first aquarium. Being inspired by friends who have kept fish I finally decided to take the plunge and invest in a tank! I am freelance illustrator, working form home so my fish keep me company and provide me with a bit of inspiration.

To start I'm a fisherman. One day in college I thought, "Hey it would be cool to watch these guys in a tank!" But, if you know anything about walleye, they are not that pretty and prefer colder waters. So I got a tank and got some fishes that were more suited for aquarium life. To this day it has yet to stop entertaining me!

All plastic... it's an aquarium not a garden

Advice:
Start with something easy then once you got the hang of it work your way up to more exotic fish. Don’t start with a 10 gallon unless you have to. Spend the more and invest in a bigger tank that will last longer. So then when you do understand how to run an aquarium you can get that cool exotic fish you saw in the pet shop.
P.S. Cleaning them sucks after while, but in the end you will have a much healthier tank

we decide to get a tank for the kids-but have actually made it our own now as the kids werent particually interested!! im not into "normal" looking fish, or small fish, hense why were getting a 6ft tank (wud get bigger if i had the room!!) im getting really interested in fish so trying to learn more about other species, rather then only knowing about the fish i have...
