Advice:
Research, research, research..... then experiment, experiment, experiment! Ask for help, no question is too simple! Start out with way too much live rock and way to little fish if you're starting a reef tank! Ensure to keep whatever your doing constant, and when you decide to try something new do it gradually and monitor your animals behaviour.
Description:
Red Hermit Crab (In a 2.5 gallon). Trouble in a Reef Tank, wouldn't leave my corals alone, constantly picking through them for food or just to be a nusiance!

I am 18, live in the UK, and fancied a bit of a challenge (as well as not spending thousands on a bigger reef!) Still a student at school, and until recently worked in my LFS.

None, invert only tank.

Ricordea Yumas- Was my first coral in there, has now split into 3 Ricordeas.
Trumpet/Candy Cane Coral- One head is splitting into 3, and about 8 new heads have grown on it.

Advice:
Don't rush it, or it will crash, i found out the hard way unfortunately! Also, don't get cheap lights, pumps etc, otherwise they are guaranteed to fail on you at the most inconvenient time!

About Yourself:
I started with a really small 10 gal tank...
My platys started having tonnes of babies, so I decided to upgrade my aquarium and get into live plants.
Fish Kept:
gouramis, platys, cardinal tetras, white skirt tetras, pleco, albino cory, electric blue lobster, feeder shrimp (yeah, they're supposed to be food, but they keep reproducing!)
Corals/Plants:
narrow leaf bacopa, cambomba, amazon sword, java moss, banana plant, red tiger lotus, a few artificial plants
Tank Size:
35 gallons
Advice:
Knowledge and patience is key...I have lost many fish and some plants to my inexperience and lack of patience. (I didn't research the electric blue lobster before I threw him in the mix, and realized afterward what a great hunter he is - I have lost MANY platys this way....)
