Top 51 - 60 Planted Tanks 2013

Rated #51: 20 Gallons Planted Tank

Rated #51: 20 Gallons Planted Tank - I have been working on this tank step by step for several weeks now, and it is finally starting to take shape. It is a 20 gallon tall, with a homemade 3D cement background. I am using Eco-Complete for my bottom substrate (1.5 inches), topped with Quikrete Medium Commercial Grade sand (1.5 inches). After all the decorations, substrate, and background, the tank fills at 13-14 gallons. I'm running an Aquaclear 50 HOB filter, with peat-moss added in the filtration system to bring down my pH. I've equipped an ViaAqua 100-Watt Quartz Glass heater, set to about 78 F. I've decorated with Malaysian drift wood as my centerpiece, with a second piece of smaller driftwood from my LFS. I built my own CO2 injector, powered by Yeast and a sugar water mixture for food. I anticipate the mixture to supply about 2 weeks of CO2 per batch. I am ultimately designing this tank for German Blue Rams, living along side of Neon and Glowlight Tetras, and Nerite Snails, but I am taking it step by step slowly, as GBR's are very sensitive to water parameters and I want the tank to be perfect for them.
