Rated #112: 90 Gallons Planted Tank

Rated #112: 90 Gallons Planted Tank - this is my 90 gallon open bottom fish tank, im using a 35 gallon breeder tank as the base and a 55 gallon tall as the top tank. the 55 gallon is suspended just under the 35 gallon's water level so the suspended water doesn't drop. this illusion is also good for the top, middle, and bottom dwelling fish to keep their natural pressure. im currently housing 3 african chichlids, 1 cobra gourmis, 1 red oscar, 3 convict chichlids, 1 redfin shark, 1 bluegill, 5 round goby's , 1 pleco, 1 baby map turtle who stays inside the top tank on a basking spot i put up there. theres sword plants spread amongts the rocks and serventrums i think their called. please leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Quote: There's two best days in a fishkeeper's life: The day he buys a tank. And the day he puts it in the attic.
About Yourself: Work in finance, attend law school part-time, my fiancee and I got sick and tired of looking at the empty space next to the television, and after a ton of convincing and research..."it" happened.
Fish Kept: 10 Neon Tetras (Mixed Sex) 6 Harlequin Rasboras (Mixed Sex) 6 Julii Corydoras (Mixed Sex) 1 Dwarf Flame Gourami (Male) 1 Tequila Sunrise Male Guppy (Male)
Corals/Plants: Mostly assorted arrows, some cabomba, and wisteria
Tank Size: 20 gallons
Advice: 1) You can never over filter your tank. Get filtration for twice the volume of your tank and rig something up using filter floss to slow the current from the output so you don't create a whirlpool in your tank for the fish to constantly stress themselves swimming against. Don't change the filter media. Just rinse it out monthly in TANK WATER in a bucket when you do your monthly big water change. 2) Use live plants that anchor well after planting. 3) Aside from the occasional medicine (which I thankfully have never had to use)...the only products that you need are Seachem PRIME for water treatment and Seachem STABILITY which is a bacteria starter that actually works and can be used to help maintain your bio filter. 4) Feed every other day for six weeks after stocking and no more than six inches of fish per two weeks. 25% water change every other day during stocking and cycling. 5) Test the water (often). Know the water. LIVE the water! 6) 25% water change weekly. 75% with light gravel vacuum monthly. 7) Algae is for the birds unless you have algae eating fish. Subdue the lighting with strips of cheap packing tape on the hood glass under the lamp and keep the tank away from direct sunlight.

Quote: Live everyday like it's your last
About Yourself: I had an aquarium when i was younger but i had no choice on what went into the aquarium or how it looked. When i could afford to start my own aquarium that's when i started really enjoying it and two years of having my 55 gallon aquarium i just felt like i needed more than that. So now i have multiple aquariums and am currently breeding two kinds of fish. So my slight interest 2 years ago turned into a great hobby and something i really love doing.
