Cichlids actually love artificial plants! Be patient and picky, I couldn`t choose a setup that I liked , so I bought all the ornaments I could and kept rearranging .. I tried to do a sort of 3D background with my decor

Detroit River themed. Basic olive drab background to represent the zero visibility of the river. Decorations include real cinder block, Detroit taxi license plate, Towne Club (local brand) soda bottle, Vernors (local brand) soda can bubbler, replica 45 caliber pistol, replica human skull.

About Yourself:
After owning a 55 g and a 36 g and having to sell them due to moving i was without fish for a few years. I recently jumped back into the hobby and purchased a 65 g. I have not decided what fish i will be keeping but since the tank is cycling i will decide in the coming week. I am just happy to be back in the hobby as it keeps my stress level down and keeps me calm.
