Advice:I upgraded from a 46 gallon bowfront tank. Going through the cycling process. My best advice is to be patient. All tanks cylce eventually!! Unfortunately this is a fish in cycle. I used some media from my old tank, however it still threw my tank into cycling.
About Yourself:I remember my first fish tank, my dad brought it home one day and I feel in love. Being able to take care, and maintain your own little ecosystem is something that fascinated me. My dad showed me how to take care of it, water changes, feeding, filter cleaning, etc and that was it I was hooked! 10 years later and this is my current setup, I like to think I've gotten pretty good at keeping care of the fish and tank, but I still have a lot to learn.
Advice:Start with good hardy fish, Gouramies (female), Mollies( male), Platys(male), Tetras, and I suggest you Go Big! Buy the biggest tank you can get, because I guarantee, you will want to upgrade and get more fish as you become more established. Weekly water changes is very important, keeps your tank looking nice, and keeps your fish happy and healthy. Don?t give up if you hit a couple of bumps, just keep going! Before you know it this will be second nature for you.
