I have at the moment 9 African chilchlids( 3orange 3 blue 3 yellow) also have 2 rubber lip plecos 1 pictus catfish and 1 ralphel catfish. also have 3 snails and a hand full of ghost shrimp( which I added about 6-7 aweek to help keep waste down and also a treat for the fish) I had some 3d background I was going to use on this tank but could not get it to work with my 2 big filters. So I am saving them for my new tank.

Betta fish and Blue Lobster. They don't seem to bother each other at all. Growing the lobster for now to move him to a larger tank.

Been running tanks since I was 18 and still going strong. I have run Saltwater, freshwater community tanks, and even reef tanks. My favorite is freshwater game fish because I live right off a lake so walk across the street and jump on my boat and fish!! They are such beautiful fish in my eye! Years ago I raised a Tiger Muskie from 2-3 inches to about 18" and was then placed into the Bass Pro Shops tank and lived happily there.

Right now the tank has the following:
2 Largemouth Bass
1 Channel catfish
2 Bullhead catfish
2 Bluegill
1 Pumpkinseed
1 Crappie
1 Crayfish
1 Perch
Corals/Plants:
No live plants but have Rocks from my lake in the tank and 2 huge logs for hiding and cover. Also, have drift wood inside the tank.

150 gallons
Advice:
Remember to properly cycle your tank in the beginning. I also like to do regular 10% water changes weekly. Also, before I put any items into my tank from outside I boil everything to kill off contaminants.

I never thought I would be "HOOKED" on the aquarium hobby, but here I am, addicted. I have 2 - 55 gallon tanks now and i started out with just one 29 gallon. I remember when i was younger, the bank had a great fish tank with sucker fish and goldfish and angelfish etc, i dont remember all that was in there. Also, there was a big tank in the Dairy Queen that had a bunch of fish and a massive bala shark. I would just stare forever at them as they darted around and i would get lost in it.
Love my tanks and enjoy the many hours of just losing myself in the tank just watching them.

Advice:
Sit back, Enjoy, Relax - It does take a while to get into the fish hobby properly - you will make mistakes at the beginning, just remember those mistakes and learn from them. I myself find that keeping a good water flow works best to circulate the water. One hint that works well, you want to get AT LEAST double or higher water filtration, so you want to make sure your filter is cycling the tank twice per hour this will ensure clean and healthy tank. Always have adequate airflow in the tank keeping in mind that @ 80 deg F oxygenation is at max, and at higher temperature oxygen is robbed of the water.

Enjoy. Relaxing. Love my tank. I now have upgraded my 2nd tank to a 75 gallon tank. OMG its nice!! 75 Gal tanks are probably one of the nicest sizes to have, bigger than that starts to take up too much room usually unless you can get a taller one.
