About Yourself:
I'm relatively new to the hobby. After a little rough patch in my schooling, I decided it would be fun to focus myself in an area that I had not tried before. Someone suggested fish keeping, and sure enough, I'm getting into it whole heartedly. I have a 10 gallon (about to be upgraded to a much larger size for a community tank), and a 90 gallon tank (both freshwater tropical).
I'm currently an 8th semester student at the University of Connecticut studying Music Education and German, hoping to be a music teacher in a public schooling system. On the side, I am a private violin instructor for beginner and intermediate level students.
Fish Kept:
I currently have in my large tank an Oscar (5"), a Jack Dempsey (3"), a common Pleco (3"), and a Blue Gourami (3.5"). In my smaller tank, I have 4 Serpae Tetras, 5 Glow Light Tetras, 1 Asian Upside Down Catfish (2.5"), 1 Common Pleco (only 2"), and a Sunset Dwarf Gourami (2"). I'm hoping to get into much more creative areas of fish keeping though.
Corals/Plants:
None so far, but I'm hoping eventually!
Tank Size:
90 gallons
Advice:
Establish your tank first, and buy from reputable aquatic stores! Make sure to let your tank run for a couple days to clean out the tank, and make sure everything is functioning (I didn't with my very first tank, and the filter broke a day later, while fish were already in the tank!). Find a fish store (not a pet store) where the people are willing to help you readily (and not afraid to send you elsewhere to find the proper materials). It will save a lot of heartache.
Description:
This is my 90 gallon aquarium that I absolutely love spending all my time on. I have only 4 fish in it now: an Oscar (5"), a Jack Dempsey (3"), a Common Pleco (7"), and a Blue Gourami (3.5"). I have had no problems with fish mate compatibility thus far!
My camera takes too large of photos for the site, so this is a slightly cropped version of the tank.

For years, the Cardinals have been like the guy who drives around with his car's blinker on: They were always threatening to turn a corner.
This year, however, they just might be serious about it.
