Well my husband Has a 120 gallon reef tank that we have had for over a year and i wanted to try my hand at a planted tank. So we are slowly working our way there.
Fish Kept:
Bala shark, Kissing Gourami, Mickey Mouse Swordtails, Guppies, Tetras, Ballon platties, betta and a few others.
Corals/Plants:
Some plants, not sure what they are.

I started with a 10 gallon tank, then bought a 90 gallon, love the hobby, looking forward to upgrading..

fake plants, some red rocks, then i made them to a cave, medium bell, a broken boat, fake log , bogwood and one big center piece, white gravel...

Finding the right tank mates and have lots of patience, and always do a little research,

i got into this as my parents kept a freshwater aquarium with a fully grown oscar and wanted my own to keep.
Fish Kept:
1 community tank with vaious fish, and quite a few of em :). also one tank specialy for crabs.
Corals/Plants:
i have a small plant along with some rockery.

Advice:
plan out your setup thoroughly before moving fish into it and cycle before putting in any fish.

i got into fish, when my uncle got a 150g. i used to visit and just watch these fish in amazment, I soon saved up enough money and got a 10g. Soon my Blood Parrot, got to big and i put him in a 29g. I now own a 10g, 29g, and a 55g.

Advice:
Fresh water fish are very easy, and hardy fish. Most of all the fish can with stand a ph level that can kill most fish. As most of my fish are Tropical, i only use a heater if need be.

Add fish slowly...don't fall behind in cleaning it. Freshwater tanks are easier to keep up, but saltwater tanks tend to be prettier.
