Description: 75 gallon. CO2 with controller. EI ferts. 260 watts CF lighting over open tank (no versa top or hood). Eheim Pro Model 2026 cannister filter. Change 40% of water per week. Feed fish 1x/day as much as they will eat in about 30 seconds. I feed a little more right before I change the water. The fish seem to know this now!
Advice: Be diligent and consistent with tank maintenance. Patience is a must. If you don't like it now you're probably never going to like it. Research full grown plant size and base your layout off of this. Pay attention to your fish, if they are stressed then the plants probably are too. Avoid pet stores that sell terrestrial plants as aquatic - mondo grass, Acorus, Spathephyllum sp? These will survive for a while and then die. Have a plan! Have fun it's a hobby.
