Description: This is my first attempt at constructing a 3D background for a cichlid tank. 45 gallon tank with (1) external canister filter. Utilities such as filter line, heater, etc..are hidden behind background. Also installed under gravel jet system to help keep clean. Up and running since about March of 2011.
Advice: Make sure your setup is manageable so you can take care of properly.
Fish Kept: cichlids
Corals/Plants: Went with a straight rock setup
Tank Size: 45 gallons

COMMENTS

They are underwater jets that keep water flowing upwards, preventing debris from settling on the bottom of the tank. I found the idea on cichlid form dot com. You can Google "under gravel jets" for articles on them. The one I saw was by "Marc Elieson" on the cichlid forum. Seems to help with keeping things clean. fish avatar
