Photo Caption:lungfish in my 125g 4 overflows int 30g sump.I have 2 cubic feet of lava rock in a garbage can that is plumbed to my sump at the last stage with my return pump to avoid debri in biofilter.I have used this method with great results in fresh and reef tank applications avoiding the need for sand or gravel in main tank but still getting positive biological filtration with less maintanence.
