Brought this tank, stand, some fish and all equipment for $100. Internal filter, Heater, 2 foot light.

Advice:
Im new too. But I would say research on the net before buying fish. Patience is important. But just have fun and enjoy!
Fish Kept:
6 Angel fish (2 marble, 1 marble viel tail, 1 white viel tail, 1 wild halfback & 1 black), 2 Gouramis (1 opaline & 1 gold), 2 dwarf gouramis (orange & blue), 2 silver dollars, 1 black ghost knife fish, 1 albino rainbow shark, 2 bristlenose (1 albino & 1 black),5 neon tetras, 2 rummy nose tetras, 1 serpea tetra, 3 unknown tetras, 1 female fighter fish, 1 unidentified fish I caught at the lake down the road, 5 ghost shrimp I caught at the river (angels ate 3) and 1 gold mystery snail.

1 jave fern. Drift wood

I got into this fish stuff about 3 months ago after seeing a freinds tank. Found a very cheap tank in the local classifieds and went from there.
