Description: I have 2 tanks at the momment. I have a 10 gallon one in my bed room. I have a 55 gallon tank int eh main room and i am setting up a 30 gallon long tank and another 55 gallon tank at the moment.
Advice: Let your water sit when you set it up. A new tank should sit a week and ahalf at the least. When you first get fish in a new tank get some thing cheap like danios. If the tank gets white and cloudy its because the ammoina is coming out and that tank is cycling dont add any thing it will clear up. Use brand new rock in the new tank. When setting up tank decor dont put to many things in in there to cluttle it up.
Fish Kept: 15 danios in my 55 gallon at the moment. Plus one gold fish i have had 3 years, a fat gold fish.

COMMENTS

tyr to read more about cycling the tank - the way you describe above will kill more fish then necessary - it's possible to cycle brand new tank with no fish sacrifice - most likely you can get some ready filter media from you LFS and if possible some decoration from his tank (make sure fish in that tank is healthy), after that lots of partial water changes and a test kit to keep an eye on ammonia and nitrite - and it's not so important what fish you add, just add it gradually - please take out your gold fish, cycling tank cannot accommodate a gold fish! fish avatar
