Description: My first tank. 20 Gallons with driftwood, rocks, pebbles and plastic plants. Marineland penguin 100 bio filter and Therma-flow heater.
Advice: Go to a really really good Aquarium shop. I wasn't happy with the giant pet places. Try to find a "aquatic only" store or two. I love Aquarium Adventure here in the Cleveland area. The staff there has been super helpful with all of my questions as well as having just about everything for aquariums under the sun. I recommend getting all of your starter fish from the same place.
Fish Kept: 1 Large Danio (Big Bucky) 1 Purple Passion Danio (Lightning) 1 Non-Aggressive Orange Cichlid 3 Black Tetras 1 Red Tailed Shark (Inky)
Corals/Plants: Driftwood (2 smaller pieces) rocks and plastic plants. I'll go live once the tank is acclimated. (I tried one live plant and it didn't survive so scratch that)
Tank Size: 20 gallons
Quote: You can't kick that high, cricket crotch.
About Yourself: Single with 3 boys. I thought (actually, my wife thought) a fish tank would be a great thing to have for our boys so we put one together Christmas Eve and told the boys we would all pick out a fish come New Year's. I am totally into this! I already want a 55 gallon saltwater but I don't see that happening for many years. Plus, I have to see if the five starter fish do OK.
