just make a sand filter instead.... check out this video...

for some reason to me it looks like their tanks are really cloudy... is that because of the sand filter???

same shit sherlock...
this one is just a clear cylinder with sand in it... the water input comes in thru the bottom, and when the water goes to the top it falls into the tank... it's pretty simple... and did you read the more info section... those filters are really effective...

I think the one I posted will be more effective because the water travels to the bottom then has to come all the way back to the top through all of the sand. What kind of mechanical filtration do you suggest I use? or not use any at all? Also what size PVC? I am wondering If I put 2 power heads on it would it be better. I will draw it on paint and tell me what u think.

Here is my idea. a power head for each output. Using that approach would I need to ensure no sand gets into the intake on the power head by placing a sponge over the intake in the canister?
