if you have enough current they will...

anyways... i don't get it... what mesh... where...? the sand will never go into the tank as long as it doesn't go as high as the top of the canister... so it just souldn't...

another thing... if you don't want it to discoler your tank run it in a bucket of water first... just normal water... then it will be pretty FTW!...

I forget. I made a filter once out of a hot tub leaf trap. I ended up gluing the damned top on cause it kept leaking and there was no way to open it to clean it so eventually I chucked it I think. Either that or it's in the garage.

maybe this is the reason stores/oneline stores sell canister contraptions, because of the headache involved. By the time one gets the homemade contraption working, it may just be worth it to find a $80 canister online or at a neighborhood store.

just a thought

Nah the canister like im making is about $100-$200. And it is quit simple to make. Just takes a bit of time and thought.

I see.

Well I guess via trial and error, you'll eventually create a great canister.
