I think you're both loco and need to forget this "great" idea of yours
it's funny to read your back & forth tirade, but may I ask, what does this have to with "should you spray out spunge mechinical filter?

Okay, i got my first part of the canister done. The intake and out flow holes are made and sealed. Gotta let em sit for a week to fully cure before I start pumpin water through em. I bought a connector to the pvc pipe connector that is made for hoses to ensure no leaks. I also bought a to pipe extension so the water can flow in two areas and cover more. This might or might not help the filtration, just have to wait and see. I was suprised that I actually might have pulled this off. Hopefully the rest falls into place. I'll keep ya updated.

Well i feel I kinda screwed up the drilling because it cracked the top, but hopefully sealant will keep it from leaking. I hope there isn't tooo much pressure on the container.... Im gonna give it a test run in a week then I will take detailed photos of it and the intricate parts used. It looks cool thats for sure, haha. gonna be nice to see it run, even though im scared. I think i will run it outside for the first time hahaha.

FSB or SBF, whatever they call it. Fluidized bed filter, but I am going with a different setup than I have seen before. I am putting mesh filter inbetween the pump pipe and the sand, and also between the sand and the out tube. To prevent sand water from going into the tank and making a mess. I believe that the sand is going to seriously discolor my water for a couple of weeks until it completely runs through all the debris.
