My new Tank!

by prdoring

Hello there.. Here Is my new tank. It is 36 gal and I am using a 40gal top-fin filter and one of the 10gal top fin filters from my old tank(for bio transfer). I am currently cycling it with 3 neon tetras, and will add 3 or 4 more in a 2-4 days. I will keep you updated on the progress in this thread. As far as decoration goes, It is sparse now, I am waiting for my girlfriend to get back in town before i do more. I will continue posting with each update to the tank!

p.s. if your worried for the tetras safety, at first sign of clamping or gasping i will transfer them to the already cycled 10gal.

You might want to invest in an aquarium stand. That's a lot of weight for a piece of furniture that wasn't necessarily designed to hold a 36 gallon aquarium.

It's Lookin' good though! Congratulations!

I like the sand. Looks nice, and will be better when the cloudiness clears.

The stand is solid, although it looks cheap its actually a hardwood piece of furniture, and quite a pain to carry up 3 stories. The tetras are doing great, and the cloudiness is starting to clear, I will be adding three more so they have a happy school, and some decor tomorrow when the girlfriend gets back into town. Pictures will be posted. The plan is to add 3 more tetras tomorrow, keep an eye on their status, and add a dwarf gourami and a cory catfish in 6 days, 3 days after that I will add my baloon molly and one of my guppies who seems to be getting picked on. 3 days after that I will add 2 more of my guppies, three days after that I will add one more guppy and my cory(old man jenkins), then I will wait about a month for my platy fry(well now young fish) to be big enough and transfer them.

Alright, I added 3 more neons and a dwarf gourami. We also added some fake plants, the tank is starting to come together nicely...

Nice tank. One SERIOUS problem you have. That fish tank isn't supported at the corners. You will come home someday to find that a seem popped or crack due to insufficient support. Honestly you shouldnt do another thing until you get a better stand. wish you luck
