polyps corals

hi, i have a 50g reef tnk and i want to know how to maintain a polyps because every time a buy polyps after two to three days their algae or something covering the polyps till it dies. is this because of the liverock because its not threated well , how can i prevent this things to happen. tnx.

well i cant answer your question but it might give the other guys a better view in being what light, skimmer, filter, waterflow and stuff you have AND what all your readings are on ph, nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, salinity and if you have a reef testing kit all of those as well.

yes, what color is the algae? sounds like weak current, how old is this setup? and have u had your water tested

are you rinsing the corals before you put them in - - -they will secreet a "slime" on themselves during stress {transporting} and if you don't get that off..........then they are basically sufocateing

yeah tank specs (all equipment) recent and accurate tank parameters ( nitrates/ites, calcium, kh, ammonia, ph, temp, and salinity,) also how long has the tank been up and running, and what kind of coral are you trying to keep because every coral has polyps .

haha, corals will melt once they get in contact with copper, that shit is no joke

sounds like a green moss algae that covers a high in phosphate and low flow tank.

the algae is brown color like mod, what flow rating do i need for a 50g tank and my tank is only 3months old
im new in this hobby. tnx.

hi, no i dont rinse the coral before i put them in, how can i rinse it with the aquarium water? before i put it in the tank? it will not damage the corals? sorry for my stupid question i'm new to this hobby and i love it, i hope you guys can help me thanks.
