Okiimiru is a girl. My name's Erica. And to learn about a Walstad style tank you can get your local library to inter-library-loan a copy of "Ecology of the Planted Aquarium" for you or buy the ebook for like $10 or the amazon.com physical book for $25 ish. Basically the idea is that growing plants are the filter. They eat the ammonium. Water changes are for the most part unnecessary, as are the bacteria in the filter.

dream2reef, i hope it didn't sound like i was discounting okiimiru's post. I like the ammonia 101 too.
