Yeah true, but actually looking to give away the malawis as well since that tank is too small. Not really looking to upgrade the tank as I actually have 4 other tanks, so not really thinking of increasing tank size. Will probably give away the malawis and get me some loaches. How many can I keep in that tank (2?) and what else can I keep with them? Any advice? subtrate? Will google them in the meantime.

There are so many diffrent kinds of loaches. It depends on what kind you get. Clown are really the only ones that can live with the cichlids, but if you are gonna go all loach. try to find some that stay small, clowns do get big in time.
Where do u live?
In the mean time. if you dress ur tank up a bit more with rocks, caves, wood ext. Your cichlids will be happy for now.
