hmmmmm. I dunno man. Mine has a lot less powerfull pump.......so that might be why mine is a lot quieter. Do you have an air line to the pump? (if you do you dont need one) Theres gotta be something on there that could quite it. Is your pump put on with a magnet? I dunno man. Im trying to help you figure it out i tore mine completly down today.....I cant get mine louder than it is now.

oh....... no magnets just suction cups to hold it there.... the skimmer itsself is what is really loud, the constant humming of the pump isnt what gets to me.

Ahh. Well hmm. These skimmers are like no other on the market....they dont have the needle wheel....and they dont have a venturi or air stone. They have the spray injection. I moved mine from HOB to sump....it got quiter. Do you have the O ring at the top?

hmmm.......well I pulled mine off my tank today. I want to see how everything reacts without it. :) should be okay with light feedings. I dont know what in the world is making yours so loud. Maybe its because the mag drive is SO powerful.

yeah its got some umph to it for sure..... shoots water about 4 ft id say... enough to splatter my wall
