I got a second hand tank with a light blue painted on background. I took a straight razor and it scrapped right off :-)

ive thought about real plants but i dont really want to spend the money in co2 filters and extra stuff you need for them....
what else should i pos do to the tank that what get it from not getting 2 as a rating, dont people know im still a noob. they should have a noob category along with all the others so it could be judged fairly
just an input..
thanks

I have a couple of tanks in my profile that are fake plants. They both stay in the top 30-40 (I think that's right). I just started in February.

Yea. For years and still with my 100 gallon I didn't use expensive lights or co2. I just put them in and they grew fine.

Acer,
I've done some serious fake-plant shopping in the last 6 months and I know just about every fake plant available right now both online and retail. If you see one you like, send me a link to it and I'll tell you what I know about it.
For starters, if you like floating plants, the top three on this page are decent: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=12124.
This cardinal plant looks nice (light green in tank): http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=15532.
And this is the very best backdrop plant I've found. You can see it in 2 or 3 tanks on my profile. I think it is this piece in particular that gives my tank their look. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=19001
Happy Shopping!

For real plants anubias is the easiest and requires the lowest light. It grows tied to wood, rocks, or in any substraight. It comes in small leafed(nana) and large leafed(bartari) and there are some other varieties as well.
